Cake from Scratch

Ingredients:
4 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup boiling water
2 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. corn flour
1 1/4 cup cake flour
Preparation:
Beat one egg at a time
with sugar until light and fluffy.
Add vanilla followed by the oil and boiling water.
Sift the baking powder,
corn flour and cake flour four
times and then add to the other ingredients. Mix well and
divide mixture into two round cake tins.
Bake at 325 degrees for
20 minutes or until an inserted
toothpick is clean. Remove from tins and cool on wire racks
before icing.
ICING:
1 1/2 cup icing sugar
4 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. cocoa powder
1 tsp. vanilla extract
milk (enough to make the icing thin enough to spread)
Mix everything together spread over cake and decorate as desired. Printer
